Boston and Cambrige on a Budget

The summer tourist season is just around the corner so before the visitors arrive let’s take a quick getaway. With gas prices high, it makes sense to stick close to home. Does close to home have to be boring? Not at all – let’s look at a quick overnight trip to Boston and Cambridge.

Save gas, time and money - hop on the Amtrak Downeaster and head to North Station; the starting point to Boston fun. With multiple departure times from Portland, as well as Wells, Maine, you could be in the Hub in approximately two hours without traffic or parking worries. Hotels can be pricy in the city but bargains are available even in some of the more expensive hotels if you take a little time and research before you go. One hotel, the Hotel Marlowe, is situated just across the city line in Cambridge.
