Geography is one of those subjects you either love or hate. You can't be in or out on the subject, at least in my opinion. If you don't care Bombay is now Mumbai (and has been since 1995) or that Waterloo Texas is now better known as Austin then geography probably isn't much of a big thing to you. Around here we've been bitten by the Geo Bug since we started watching The Amazing Race a few seasons ago.
We're now hooked on where the teams are going or have been. We Google places that hold interest to us be it Buenos Aires or Beijing or some place in between. We know more about different countries from this one television show than we remember learning in school. We've even bought the at home game to brush up on who is where, what and when! We also play while talking in funny made up accents but I decided not to mention that to anyone should there be language police who are reading this and ready to pounce.
Without Amazing Race would we know Ancient Egyptians shaved off their eyebrows to mourn the death of their beloved cats or that eating a boatload of fondue in Switzerland is really not a good idea if you're in a hurry?
Or as Zev would say on Team Zev & Justin “We’re just in it for the fondue of it.”
Now if I can just figure out how to get to Mexico Maine I'd be all set.
